Communities and Local Government's (CLG)  vision is to create great places where people want to live, work and raise a family.  CLG set policy on local government, housing, urban regeneration, planning and fire and rescue and have responsibility for all race equality and community cohesion related issues in England. They are also responsible for building regulations, fire safety and some housing issues in England and Wales. The rest of our work applies only to England.

West Midlands Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnership

Improvement and Efficiency West Midlands provides specialist regional support in areas such as people & leadership development, performance improvement, LAA support, efficiency & procurement, transformation, adult & children's services. There is also support for Fire and Rescue Authorities.

East Midlands Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnership

The East Midlands Improvement and Efficiency Partnership aims to bring lasting improvements to the region, helping to forge closer links between authorities to help them challenge and support one another on their 'improvement journey'.

Government Office West Midlands

Government Office West Midlands work to deliver, influence and develop government programmes and initiatives in the region on behalf of these departments, by working with relevant organisations to meet local needs. They also act as ears, eyes and a local voice for Whitehall in the West Midlands, reflecting back to central government the interests, concerns and successes of the region to inform policy development.

Regional Empowerment Network

The National Empowerment Partnership (NEP) is a partnership of organisations set up to improve the quality, co-ordination and evidence of community empowerment across England. It consists of consortia, one in each of the English regions and a national consortium. The regional lead for the West Midlands is Regional Action West Midlands.

Regional Action West Midlands (RAWM)

Regional Action West Midlands was established in 2000 as a result of Government policy to move decision making powers and resources from Central Government departments to newly created English regions. The West Midlands is one of those nine English regions maing sure that the voluntary and community sector is involved in the decision making and resource allocation processes.

RegenWM

The mission of RegenWM is to promote and develop regeneration excellence in the West Midlands. RegenWM was set up in 2003 to address the skill shortages in the regeneration sector. Our approach to delivering our mission is to work with partners and providers and to match up programmes, needs and opportunities. In practice this means we are a small market making organisation who achieves our objectives through networking, knowledge transfer and information flows.Our approach is to put people from different teams, organisations, sectors and professions in the same place: this approach ensures that whilst focusing on a specific issue of topic, that they are also learning about how their colleagues work in other parts of the sector.

They do this by sharing our expertise to develop new training, provide the very best services and promote what really works in neighbourhood renewal.
